We’re looking forward to bringing Louisiana’s aviation and aeronautics community together at the State Capitol for Aviation Day 2026.
This day is all about showing up as an industry and sharing the story of how aviation supports our communities, drives economic development, and keeps Louisiana connected. It is also an opportunity to have real conversations with legislators about the needs of our airports and the importance of continued funding and policy support.
Throughout the day, LAMA members and partners will be set up in the Capitol Rotunda with exhibits, materials, and industry information. This creates space for both planned and informal conversations with elected officials, staff, and other stakeholders as they move through the Capitol.
In addition to time in the Rotunda, the day includes opportunities to connect more directly with legislators, whether that is through scheduled meetings, inviting them to visit your table, or simply having a quick conversation between sessions. Lunch and the evening reception provide additional time to network with legislators and peers to continue those discussions in a more relaxed setting.
Whether you are sharing statewide priorities or talking about what is happening at your airport, the goal is to highlight the value of the aviation and aerospace industry in Louisiana.
What to Expect:
9 AM to 3 PM – Capitol Rotunda Exhibits and LAMA Recognition on Senate and House Floors
12 PM to 1 PM – LAMA Member Lunch with Legislators in the Pentagon Barracks
5 PM to 8 PM – Evening Reception with Legislators in the Pentagon Barracks

Connecting with Your Legislators
One of the most important parts of Aviation Day is direct engagement. We encourage each airport to reach out to your local legislators ahead of time to invite them to attend. If you are able, try to set up a time to meet with them while you are at the Capitol. Those one-on-one conversations go a long way.
