Louisiana Aviation Day at the Capitol

We’re looking forward to bringing Louisiana’s aviation and aeronautics community together at the State Capitol for Aviation Day 2026.
This day is all about showing up as an industry and sharing the story of how aviation supports our communities, drives economic development, and keeps Louisiana connected. It is also an opportunity to have real conversations with legislators about the needs of our airports and the importance of continued funding and policy support.
Throughout the day, LAMA members and partners are encouraged to engage directly with legislators and their staff through scheduled meetings and informal conversations as lawmakers move between sessions.
Whether you are sharing statewide priorities or talking about what is happening at your airport, the goal is to highlight the value of the aviation and aerospace industry in Louisiana.
What to Expect:
- Morning: Airports are encouraged to schedule individual meetings with their legislators.
- 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM: LAMA Membership Meeting at the Senate President’s Apartment, Pentagon Barracks.
- Afternoon: Recognition on the House and Senate floors and continued meetings with legislators and staff.
- 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Evening reception at the Pentagon Barracks Courtyard featuring crawfish, live music, and a chance to let the good times fly.

Connecting with Your Legislators
One of the most important parts of Aviation Day is direct engagement. We encourage each airport to reach out to your local legislators ahead of time to invite them to attend. If you are able, try to set up a time to meet with them while you are at the Capitol. Those one-on-one conversations go a long way.
